Pore Cloggers

Ingredients in everyday products are common causes of acne

Skincare companies market their products for acne-prone skin, but the products contain ingredients that actually worsen acne. These ingredients could be found in your make-up, shampoo, toothpaste, face & body wash, and laundry detergent!

Even if you read “won’t clog pores” or “noncomedogenic” on the bottle, no government agency oversees product labels for their effectiveness in treating acne. That’s why Acne Specialists identified the infamous Pore Cloggers.

The following ingredients will cause and aggravate acne. Make sure that you do not let these toxins onto your skin. Use this list to check the ingredients label of anything you put on your body.

Pore cloggers are everywhere!

For example, sodium lauryl sulfate is a harsh chemical that’s added as a foaming agent to cleansers, but clogs pores. Even natural ingredients found in organic skin care products, like shea butter and coconut oil, cause acne.
